Leavenworth Christmas Tree Lighting – December 10th, 11th, 17th and 18th

A(n Improvised) Christmas Carol – Dec 9th, 10th, 11th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th.
We all know the story of Charles Dickens classic, “A Christmas Carol.” Or do we?
Unexpected Productions brings back its holiday favorite, “A(n Improvised) Christmas Carol”. Based on audience suggestions, their improvisers bend and twist Charles Dickens’ tale of Ebenezer Scrooge in all sorts of hilarious directions — and each show is different. Where does Scrooge work? What ails Tiny Tim? Does Scrooge even get reformed? It’s all up to you in this wild, hilarious, holiday ride. A holiday tradition for countless locals since 1985, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the holidays with friends or family.

The Holiday Show – Dec 10th
This is the annual HOLIDAY SHOW from Northwest Sound Men’s Chorus.
We promise two hours of locking chords and beautiful harmonies from Northwest Sound, the Barbershop Harmony Society’s 13th highest ranked chapter. With guests Jet Cities and top quartets. It’s great entertainment for the whole family.You can also expect sing! Sing! SING! graduates – to join us on the risers!

Bellevue Ice Arena – now till Jan 8th
Skate and celebrate at the Magic Season Ice Arena, the region’s largest open-air holiday ice skating experience! This beloved Magic Season tradition is the perfect memory-making activity for family and friends.

Sack the Holidays – Dec 17th
Holiday Flash Mob (pillow fight) we call Sack the Holidays! Pillows will fly! Swing and whack as you evade pillow-wielding assailants. Bring a soft, feather-free pillow and wait for the signal. Pillow fight!

Seattle Santacon 2016 – Dec 17th
SantaCon is an annual mass gathering of people dressed in Santa Claus costumes parading publicly on streets and inside locations in cities around the world. The focus is on spontaneity and creativity, while having a good time and spreading cheer and goodwill. This is much more than a pub crawl, and every time you call it that, a sugar plum fairy dies!

XTREME New Year’s Theatresports Party! – Dec 31st
Comedy, camaraderie, and champagne! Laugh your way into the new year with Unexpected Productions. We proudly present Seattle’s only fast-paced comedy improv battle. 20 hilarious improvisers split up into four teams and scored with cards marked 0-5 by the audience. This is an off-the-chart party. We will be giving away all sorts of gifts and providing all the hats, streamers and fun you expect. We careen full speed into the new year with a special champagne toast as the ball drops at midnight.

Holiday Half & 5K 2016 – Dec 11th
Get in the holiday spirit and bookend your race season with Portland’s favorite winter Half Marathon & 5K in December! The fantastic out and back course starts and finishes at the Adidas North America Campus and winds along Willamette Blvd to the sounds of carolers all along the course!

George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker – Dec 10th – onwards
Choreographer George Balanchine’s production of Tchaikovsky’s ballet The Nutcracker has become the most famous stage production of the ballet performed.

All Classical Portland present Mark O’Connor’s An Appalachian Christmas – Dec 14th
All Classical Portland presents Grammy-winning violinist Mark O’Connor at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall on Wednesday, December 14th as part of the acclaimed An Appalachian Christmas tour. Mark and the O’Connor Band bring together elements from folk, bluegrass and classical traditions to create “heavenly” (Associated Press) interpretations of Christmas classics that feel both modern and nostalgic. Special guest Nancy Ives, principal cellist with the Oregon Symphony, will perform cello parts originally crafted by Yo-Yo Ma. This “infections mix of roots music” (The Oregonian) is now an established holiday tradition for Portland families. Don’t miss your opportunity to secure seats!

East Portland Rotary Club Holiday Party – Dec 17th
Come share the fun and experience your foster, biological and adopted children’s delight in unwrapping their presents and enjoying the day! Fun activities, snacks, a hot chocolate bar, caroling and, of course, Santa Claus!
Open to the first 500 foster, biological and adopted children of Multnomah County certified foster and kinship parents. Gifts will be provided from each child’s “wish list” and distributed at the sponor’s holiday party for foster children. Gift limit is around $30.

Stumptown SantaCon 2016: Festival of Lights – Dec 17th
It’s the moving costume dance party with thousands of Santa, Reindeer, Snowflakes and more! Open Street party in “Portland’s Livingroom” with live DJ’s Food carts and more.

Winter Glow Showcase – Dec 28th
Sultanov Russian Ballet Academy presents Winter Glow Showcase. The Showcase will include a mix of classical and contemporary dances to Holiday tunes and excerpts from Nutcracker.
